Green Energy Project at South Side Community Coalition

  • Green Energy Project

Help us build a rooftop solar panel array on our Community Center building! The 13 kW photovoltaic array will convert the sun’s energy into electricity for the center, producing enough power to cover ~100% of our annual use. Besides saving thousands on utility bills to benefit SSCC, the project will serve as a model for sustainable energy projects in Southwest Lansing.

  • Why is this project important for our goals?

To address the urgent challenges of climate change, we all need to do our part to move to a fossil-fuel free future, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and save the planet from ever-greater warming. The Southside Community Coalition is working in partnership with community partners to create a green environment in our part of the City.

With the help of the Capital Area Chapter of Michigan Interfaith Power and Light (, and other generous donors including you, we can do our part to create and sustain a healthy environment

Our Capital Area Chapter is working with the Southside Community Coalition (Lansing) to invest in solar panels for the SSCC's roof! The proposed 13kW array will reduce the organization's climate pollution while also helping them put more of their resources into their programming for the community.
